Der Rotmilan (Milvus milvus) ist bekannt als einer der schönsten und majestätischsten Greifvögel. Sein charakteristisch gefärbtes Gefieder sowie der gegabelte Schwanz sind wichtige Bestimmungsmerkmale. Aber die Population in Deutschland schrumpft seit den 90er Jahren dramatisch. Mehr als 50% der europäischen Rotmilane brüten in Deutschland, doch monokultureller Ackeranbau, Windparks und illegale Jagd und Verfolgung sind einige der Gründe dafür.

The red kite (Milvus milvus) is known as one of the most beautiful and majestic birds of prey. It's colourful plumage and the forked tail are important identification characteristics. But the population in Germany is dramaticaly decreasing. More than 50% of Europe's red kite are breeding in Germany, but monocultural agriculture, wind parks and illegal hunting are just a few of all the reason for that.
